From the North

Take 91 South to Deerfield/Sunderland/Route 116 Exit (Exit 25).

Turn left at end of ramp, then right on Rts. 5-10-116.  Go South about 0.5 miles, then take a left at the light to follow Rt 116 toward Sunderland.

^ You will cross the Connecticut River on a blue metal bridge. (It is 1.9 miles from this left to the traffic light in the center of Sunderland where Rt 47 crosses Rt. 116.)

Continue south on Rt. 116 for 2.1 miles. Take a left on Bull Hill Road (blue house on corner) and travel 1.1 miles to the end of the road.  Take a left on Rt. 63, and travel north about 1/10th mile,

*then turn right on Depot Road.  Go to the end of the road (about 1.5 miles) and turn right on Amherst Road and travel 0.8 miles.  Take your first left.

This is Teawaddle Hill Road (and is a dirt road).  Travel  0.3 miles; park in the lower driveway.  You’ll see #21 signs on the mailbox and in the drive.  It looks very forested, and not like a farm! There will probably be a brown horse trailer parked in the drive.

Walk up the hill to the house.

You can also continue past the driveway for 21 and take a right into the 31 drive.  This splits…take the first branch (goes right) and park closer to the house.

From the South

Note:  The Coolidge Bridge (Rt. 9) crosses the Connecticut River connecting Amherst-Hadley and Northampton.  This bridge frequently backs up, and the road on the Hadley side of the bridge is slated soon for major repairs.  We are giving you 2 sets of directions, therefore.  The most direct route takes Rt. 9, but the quickest may well be to travel further north on 91, come across the Sunderland bridge on Rt.116, and then travel southeast to the farm.

Direct

Come north on Interstate 91.  Take exit 19, to Hadley-Amherst-Rt. 9  and turn right on Rt. 9 at the bottom of the ramp.  Travel east for 4.5 miles, then take a left onto Rt 116 north.  Go 3.3 miles, and turn right onto Meadow St (the turn says “to Rt. 63”), heading toward North Amherst.  At the North Amherst light, take a left and then the immediate right fork, following Rt. 63 north.  Travel 3.0 miles north until you reach Depot Road, and then follow the directions from * above.

Maybe faster (bypasses any delays on the Hadley/Northampton bridge)

Go north on I 91 (past exit 19 ) until you reach exit 24 (Deerfield – Sunderland).  Take a right off the ramp  (you’re on Rts 5 &10 north)  and then a right in 0.1 mile onto Rt. 116 south.  Follow from   ^ above.
