Fiber Programs
May 13, 2006LEARN TO SPINFor anyone 14 or older, you’ll spend the day learning to make yarn. We’ll go over the process—and then make yarn with several different spinning tools. You’ll choose and prepare wool for spinning and you’ll handle a variety of fleeces. You’ll be introduced to other animal fibers, and also some that come from plants. A great farm lunch is included, as well as a chance to meet the fiber-bearing animals here on the farm. Workshop runs 9:00-5:00. $75, including lunch and materials. Limited to 4 participants. June 4, 2006 HALF-DAY WEAVING SAMPLER Think you might want to learn to weave? Here’s a chance to find out! We’ll have several looms all warped and ready to go…you just come and play! And ask lots of questions to see if maybe weaving is something you’d enjoy. We start at noon with lunch and weaving talk, and go until 5:00. You’ll leave with a sample project and information…and some clarity about your future as a weaver! $60 for session, everything included. Limited to 4 participants. July 5-8,
2006
LEARN TO WEAVE FOR ADULTS Our very small (maximum 4) and intensive class. You’ll work hard, weave at least four projects and leave really ready (with good written materials) to continue on your own. Wonderful food, beautiful walks—and the excitement of making your own cloth. We’ll start Wednesday at 10:00 and go until 4:00 on Saturday. $350 for boarders, $285 for commuters. In the fall… We’ll give the weaving workshop in an evenings and some Saturdays format. We’ll do a soap workshop, offer spinning again…and who knows what else. For SaleRaw FleeceBeautiful Romney
